Welcome to a New School Year at Mogwarts!
Greetings, students, parents, and magical creatures far and wide! As the leaves begin to fall and the crisp autumn winds sweep across the Isles of Mog, it can only mean one thing—the new school year at Mogwarts is upon us! The grand halls of our beloved school are once again buzzing with the excitement of fresh faces, new lessons, and, of course, the whispers of ancient mysteries that lie beyond our enchanted grounds.
For those returning, we are overjoyed to welcome you back to your second home. For our new students, prepare to embark on a journey unlike any other. Whether you are feline or tortoise, know that you are stepping into a world filled with wonder, knowledge, and endless opportunities for both mischief and mastery.
A Message from Headmaster Fumblepaw
Our esteemed Headmaster, Professor Fumblepaw, would like to share a few words of wisdom as we begin the term:
"Dear students, I—oh, where did I put my speech again? Ah, yes. Welcome! This year promises to be full of magical discoveries, friendships, and, er… nip?? No, wait, that’s for later. Anyway, my advice to you is simple: Stay curious, help your fellow students, and try not to set anything on fire unless absolutely necessary. Welcome to another year at Mogwarts! Oh, and if you see my wand, do let me know..."
As always, Headmaster Fumblepaw’s enthusiasm is matched only by his forgetfulness, but don’t let that fool you—he is as sharp as ever when it comes to the challenges ahead. Just be sure to keep an eye on his ever present nip jar.
Meet Our Staff (and Revisit Familiar Faces)
We’re proud to introduce some of the finest minds in the magical world who will be guiding you through this academic year. Our faculty, a blend of wisdom, strict discipline, and a touch of eccentricity, is eager to pass on their knowledge to the next generation of wizards and witches.
Professor Beak (Vice Headmistress and Head of Sharpclaw): Known as Grumpy Beak, she is not one for idle chatter. As the Head of House Sharpclaw and the teacher of Defense Against the Dark Arts, she will challenge your mind and fortify your spirit. Tortoises and cats alike respect her formidable presence, though her stern exterior hides a deep care for her students.
Professor Ozzy (Head of Flooflepoof): If you have a green thumb, or paw, Professor Ozzy will be your guide. As our resident herbology expert, Ozzy’s garden is not only a place of beauty but also of danger—some of those plants bite back. Watch your step in the greenhouse!
Professor Olive (Head of Wigglin House): Known as Mad Eye Olive, she has a keen sense of discipline and a deep love of magical combat. Wigglin House will thrive under her watchful eye, though don’t expect to get away with mischief under her sharp gaze.
Professor Buttons (Head of Lionmane House): If tales of bravery and chivalry make your heart race, then Professor Buttons is your mentor. With his ever-present nip cigar and a penchant for ancient tapestries, he teaches the importance of courage and history. His nightly whiskey by the fire is, of course, an optional part of his lessons—strictly for himself.
We’re also thrilled to continue our partnership with Nurse Fig, who is always ready with healing spells, potions, and the occasional dose of common sense when the inevitable magical mishaps occur.
New Adventures Await!
This year promises to be particularly exciting, as the school is planning several excursions to far away lands. Our students have already begun their research into the ancient ruins hidden deep within the deserts, jungles, and swamps of forgotten realms. We encourage all students to participate in these excursions as part of their studies, though do keep your claws sharp and wands ready.
For our more relaxed students (or those who simply need a break), the legendary retreat, Beaks and Shells, remains open. Located to the southwest of Mogwarts, it’s the perfect place for a tortoise to unwind and receive a well-deserved shell scratching.
Important Notices for the Year -
House Competitions: This year, House points will be fiercely contested. From Nip Diving to the Potions Competitions and even Poetry , we expect Flooflepoof, Wigglin, Sharpclaw, and Lionmane to battle it out for the coveted House Cup. Study hard, practice your spells, and prepare for friendly rivalries!
The Weary Kitty Tavern: A favorite haunt for older students traveling to Mogsmead, the Weary Kitty Tavern remains a perfect spot for relaxation and delicious meals. This year, the tavern will feature a new selection of nip beers and a limited-edition dish called the Meaty Mogsmead Platter—an absolute must-try!
Port Peeto Visits: Keep an eye on the notice boards for upcoming trips to Port Peeto, where students can shop for rare magical ingredients or embark on trade expeditions. It's also an excellent opportunity to practice your bartering skills.
A Final Word
As the new school year dawns, we encourage all students to embrace the magic of Mogwarts. Whether you’re a first-year just finding your paws or a returning student eager to dive deeper into the mysteries of magic, this year is yours for the taking. Our faculty is here to guide you, but the true power lies within you—your curiosity, your bravery, and your willingness to learn.
So, gather your books, sharpen your claws, and ready your wands. A new year at Mogwarts has begun, and we can’t wait to see what magical adventures await you all.
Until next time, happy spellcasting!
